Chief (Engr.) Owen Obaseki (JP)

The Otaifoh of Uromi Kingdom in Esan Central of Edo State, Owen is a graduate of engineering from the University of Benin, an alumnus of Lagos Business School and holder of an honorary doctorate degree from the Bethel University of Biblical Studies, USA.

An established serial entrepreneur with at least 20 years in developing, building, and nurturing different thriving businesses across several industries in Nigeria, he is the CEO of Chowen Oil and Gas Co Ltd and Copeo Projects Ltd and sits on the boards of Oceansands Prospecting Co Nigeria Ltd, Edo Joint Group of Companies and Dreezer Development Company Ltd. He also serves as patron on the boards of several notable organisations across Nigeria, such as the Police Community Relations Committee, National Association of Nigerian Students and ZETA CLUB.

As a first-class chief, Owen dedicates himself to the promotion of the peace, unity, progress, youth, and community development of all Edo people nationally and internationally and was conferred with a Justice of the Peace Award by the Edo State Government and an Apostolic Knight Award by the Christ Apostolic Church of God Mission Worldwide.

Owen is a philanthropist, avid sportsman and supporter of sports, serving as the Chairman of Edo State Taekwondo Association and spending a lot of his free time championing the development of sports in Nigeria.
