The Chief Executive of Matad Group Nigeria Ltd, an investment company with operations across Africa, Atta sits on the board of a number of first-class companies. An astute business man with over two decades experience in financial management and consulting, he has developed an enviable portfolio of clients. His consultancy provides services for world-class companies such as Shell, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas Company (NLNG), First Bank of Nigeria Plc. and Lafarge Plc. amongst others. His involvements also extend into projects for the World Bank, UNICEF, DFID and HYSON mainly in the areas of infrastructure, financial services, capacity building, hospitality and tourism, housing, transportation and logistics.

Described as Africa’s King of Polo, Atta has been a reference point to many in the game of polo. As one of the biggest polo personalities in the world, he founded the Fifth Chukker Polo and Country Club in 2001, a polo and lifestyle resort which serves as a benchmark for excellence in Nigeria. His many titles include eight Georgian Cup victories, Emir of Kano Cup, back-to-back triumphs at Keffi Ranch Polo Tournament and the General Hassan Cup in Port Harcourt among others.

Alhaji Atta has made his mark as an entrepreneur and job creator in the last 35 years including the creation and establishment of critical job offering outfits for thousands of Nigerians such as the University of Technology in Okene Kogi State, and a cement factory with Chinese partners in Itobe, Kogi State. His other interests include textile and garments, cement, food and beverage production. He has also served on various Committees in Oil and Gas and Textile sectors and was a pioneer member of the Nigerian Business Forum.
